If one wants to freeze all his emotions while watching the movie, then i must suggest everyone to watch this movie- The Pianist. Roman Polanski’s critically acclaimed direction venture. The movie is based on a true story. This movie has won many awards including academy for best director & best actor for the leading role(Adrien Brody). This movie is a life story of a pianist- Wladyslaw Szpilman in Poland during the world war II. This movie details his survival.

A composer and pianist, Szpilman played the last live music heard over Polish radio airwaves before Nazi artillary hit. There, in poland, Szpilman struggles to stay alive- even when cast away from those he loved. He spent the duration of the  war hiding in the ruins of Warsaw and scavenging  for food and shelter. Szpilman eventually reclaimed his artistic gifts and confronted his fears, with aid from those sources which he never expected.

The movie has all the elements which will highlight the dark history of II world war. There are many films released, which speaks of World war II. But, this film will make you feel the pain those people suffered. The movie is so beautifully drawn that it has tried to pull music and war in a single thread. Adrien Brody has given his best performance. No wonder, he was chosen as best actor by the academy. The movie is sound in the aspect of technicality.

The movie has tried to pull music & war in a single thread. The movie has tried to tell us some of the harsh realities that happened during world war II. This movie made us believe that life can be cinematic. There are many things that happens around the globe which we never think of. Well, people who have great affinity towards film should be aware of  “Casablanca“, A real Fresco of all time. It is considered as classic and the most loved melodrama which was filmed in the year 1942.  Directed by very talented Hungarian- accented ‘Micheal Curtiz’.  This movie has won 3 Academy Award (1944) which includes Best Director (Micheal Curtiz), Best Picture and also Best Writing Screenplay (Julius j. Epstein, Philip g. Epstein & Howard Koch).

The movie is about Expatriate Rick Blaine (Humphrey Boggart), a cynical night club owner in Casablanca, discovers that his ex-lover llsa (Ingrid Bergman) has arrived in Casablanca with her Resistance leader husband, Victor Laszlo (Paul Henreid) with the German on Victor’s trail. llsa has come to the club to beg Rick for the precious letters of transit that have come into his possession. The documents would allow Victor to escape  Casablanca and continue the fight against Fascism.

The movie flows with many interesting sequences where Rick and llsa face each other in the club. Ingrid Bergman has played with her facial expression in those scenes where llsa meets her love Rick in front of Victor. The expression on her faca takes a rapid change with happiness first on meeting Rick after a long time, to guilty action of leaving him behind. Her acting is worth appreciating.

Lets view the trailer of this movie.

The movie is like a roller coaster ride, which will be smoth in the begginnig, and then will take rapid twist to give many surprises. The movie has all the elements to fulfill everyones desire to watch a film. So, all I can say is that- Please watch this  because it is one of the finest romantic melodrama ever to grace the silver screen. Don’t miss it, and please feel free to place your comments about this movie.
